The Local Bargaining Committee received a phone call from the National Union today at 11:30 am.  This call was in regard to Navistar making a formal announcement in regard to the Chatham Assembly Plant on Tuesday August 2, 2011.  The announcement is not expected to be favourable to the workers of the Chatham Plant

An update will be given following this announcement from the Bargaining Committee.

Daymond Employees
update for any ex or laid off Daymond employees who have attained the age of 55. They are now able to apply for their pension. There are reductions for the early application but the fund will not get any bigger so everyone may as well apply for their pension as soon as possible. The normal reduction is .5% per month prior to the age of 65.To make your application simply email your personal information:Name, Address, Phone, age and activation date, for the calculation, to the pension coordinators. I recommend that the date they use is November 1st 2010. They will get back to you with the next step.
